* Print out all contact information you have with them by way of text messages, email messages and also any pictures, copies of passports or drivers license, or other forms of communication sent to you from them and also from you to them.
* Any and all monetary transactions including bitcoin,money orders or bank transfers and gift card purchases made you will need copies of the receipts as well.
* The treasury department is proficient in tracking bitcoin transactions.
*Copies of your phone records will also show the dates and times of all incoming calls to your phone. You can request those records from your phone carrier.
*Documentation is most important if you want to even consider getting any of your money back.
* You must be diligent and persistent, because the authorities will not accept your phone for them to extract the information from it. You must print out all the information for them yourself in chronological order. It would also be valuable for you to write up a chronological journal about where you met, which dating site or social media, and as much information about them, as you can produce, including birthday ,addresses, type of car, or any information that you can provide the authorities would be helpful as well.
* Contacting the proper authorities, will have to be done online through their websites. Keep a journal every time you make a contact . Be sure to write down the name of the person you spoke to or were contacted by and the dates and time of them as well.
